Y’all, I am smitten over this embroidered marigold dress that I wore the first night to dinner. I didn’t get a good picture of it so we woke up early Sunday morning to shoot it #bloggerprobs. If you don’t follow along on social media, we currently are in Cabo for a little birthday getaway! We have been to a beach every year for my birthday (Florida, Cancun, Belize, Hawaii) because laying in the sun is literally my love language. This year we get to celebrate my 25th birthday in Cabo at the JW Marriott. The grounds here are STUNNING. It oddly reminds me of the resort we stayed at in Jordan at the Dead Sea. I told that to our bell hop boy and he was like well yeah “without the bombs”. Lol Ted loved it. We have been needing a sit and chill kind of trip for months now. I know everybody says that there is so much to see and do in Cabo but we have decided to not see or do anything this trip. A bunch of relaxing for us please! We plan to come back and will definitely check out what Cabo has to offer and the excursions next trip! So basically I will be able to give you a GOOD review on this hotel but can’t tell you much else about Cabo lol!
Anyways, I will do be doing a full review on the resort sometime in the next couple weeks but until then, I cant stop sharing on IG stories this place. I also shared that while we were shooting this dress, Ted kept yelling to the beach that he is “coming”. The kid has been cracking me up lately on this trip, I love him! He did like this dress which was a plus! I loved it because of the color, the long sleeves that kept me warm in the restaurant, and the embroidered detail. Such a Cabo look!
Sister and I had the best time at The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs, that I wanted to share! I mean the hotel itself just makes you smile with all the bright colors, and if you are big into pictures, this is your place! First, Palm Springs as a city just threw me off guard! I never had a desire to visit, nor had any clue what to expect. It was such a cute little desert town where everyone seemed to be so happy all the time. We didn’t get to do much exploring in downtown, but the hotel did have shuttles that would take you there.
I def want to go back just to explore more! We did take out bikes one evening and that was probably a highlight of the trip. The hotel includes these adorable. blue bikes and since sister forgot her bathing suit, we took the bikes to hunt for one! I was at first kind of annoyed that she forgot one, but then quickly realized she thought we were going to New York fashion week, so made sense why she wouldn’t bring one lol! It also gave us a fun excuse to go adventuring and shopping. We could have rode our bikes to #thatpinkdoor, the famous IG pink door in the photo above, since it was so close to the hotel! It was so funny standing in line trying to get a picture with the pink door. So many IG ladies were there trying to snap a photo and sister thought it was the funniest thing.
As for the hotel, I definitely would recommend it. I think it was a motel in the old days and they fixed it up with a bunch of color to make it more snazzy. I would go more for the ambiance, possibly for a bachelorette, or spring break trip! It was the perfect getaway for a sisters weekend and we loved loved the pool. If you can see above, the mountain scenery behind the hotel from the pool was amazing. I could have laid there all day if I could with a watermelon margarita in hand (yum)! One morning we did order room service, and y’all, it was the best breakfast chorizo burrito I have ever tasted! Sister and I definitely agreed it was made with LOVE and we need to go back just for the burrito. El Jef was also the dinner spot we went to by the lobby and they had some amazing brussel sprouts. You kinda can’t go wrong at this hotel!
Well, if it wasn’t for the snow blizzard that hit NYC, I would be sharing some winter looks, but since plans changed, I am jumping into Spring! If you have been following along for a while, you know this time of year is my time to shine. I have such a #meh time styling for Winter and Fall, but when Spring and Summer come around, I am one happy girl! Everything from the sun shining, to bright colors, and wedges / sun dresses on repeat, ahh I am smiling writing about it!
Sister and I noticed flights were starting to cancel to NYC due to the blizzard on Wednesday night and decided to switch routes and avoid NYFW this year. I am kinda bummed about it, but also proud of myself for not making my warm blood miserable in that snow. I think I am much happier with bright colors and sunshine in Palm Springs. We are staying at the Saguaro Hotel and I can’t stop sharing these fun color walls. Bright colors are everything around here and makes the vibe so much fun! I luckily packed this adorable cold shoulder top that is under $40 and the long sleeves make it perfect for this transitional season. I would say it’s a winner! Oh and yes, I did bike around town in these wedges yesterday. They are seriously comfier than some of my tennis shoes. I was dedicated to look cute while I was biking and I had zero regrets! Oh and these earrings – you need ’em for spring time!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend babes! As always, thanks for stopping by.
Hey everyone! Today you have the disappointment pleasure of reading a blog written by me, the guy behind the camera, Mr. Hubby (a.k.a. Ted). Dede’s post that she spent writing last night did not save, and she is in meetings all day, so I thought I might jump in and say a few things about this outfit, my wife, and her passion for all things fashion. **Disclaimer: Dede has no idea I’m doing this….so it may be deleted soon 🙂
First, lets talk about this outfit. I literally have no sense of fashion, but I can tell when my wife is wearing a legit cute outfit. Before we began to take shots for Dress Up Buttercup, I we decided to take a stroll through the Venetian to find a place to get some brunch. Not sure if you all know this already, but Dede and fried chicken have a relationship that can’t be compared! Luckily, we found Yardbird, which was probably the best fried chicken I’ve had (Note: I don’t care much for fried chicken, but Dede was making noises when she was eating).
Back to the outfit. While taking our stroll through the Venetian, I couldn’t tell you the number of people either giving Dede compliments (i.e. “Oh my gosh! Your jacket/outift is so legit totes cute!), or just straight staring at her as we were walking by. I can tell you that Dede never knows when someone is staring at her, but as her husband, I’ve got a sixth sense for these things. Needless to say, everyone loved the design of this jacket! The added design at the bottom is probably what made the jacket “pop” so much.
Next, let’s talk about the wife for a second. When it comes to life, no one is more caring, sweet, and thoughtful than Dede. She always goes above and beyond for other people, for no reason at all, but to just make them smile. I remember early on in our marriage, I came home after work and I saw her wrapping a gift for someone. I asked if it was someone’s birthday and she said “Nope! I just came across it and I know they would love it!”. I mean for real!? Who does that? I mean my friends are cool and all, but I’m not about to go buy them a gift for fun. But this is who she is. Constantly thinking about how she can make those around her happier.
Naturally, when she started this blog, she had no idea where it was going to take her, but she put in her heart and soul into it, working countless hours at all times of the day to make sure she was giving her readers/followers the best product they could get. There was, and still is, this unbelievable drive to be the best she can be for all of you. She sincerely cares about every single one of you, it’s almost similar to her relationship to fried chicken! (She’s not going to like that I said that lol).
This past year, there has been times full of a mixture of emotions, but she has consistently persevered through it all, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I know there a countless number of prayers around my wife, and I couldn’t be more thankful to my Lord that He has consistently shown us His hand through this journey. My prayer for her as that she continues to seek the Lord’s strength in all areas of her life, and to continue to use this platform for His glory. Without Him, all this is meaningless. Psalm 27:7-8 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.” There is nothing more satisfying than that!
I hope you enjoyed this novel for the day!! I tend to ramble, so that was me rambling on a computer. Oh, also, links above to everything, and thank you so much for following my wife through this journey!
