Happy Friday darlings! We made it to the weekend. I have been eyeing this top for weeks so I was so excited when it came in. It was a little tight since I sized down to an XS but still worth and darling! Lately, idk what is going on with me but I can’t narrow down a good size. Idk if it’s my body type or the industry but I feel like I constantly am recommending to size up or down and nothing is tts. I feel like I will get it down soon. I usually am on a streak and but lately my magic touch has been, meh! Anyways, this top is a must!
Also, I realized I never touched on my eyebrows and have received a couple questions about it! I went to Chic Lash Boutique for micro blading and I haven’t looked back since. They have two locations in Houston and THE place to go for micro blading. I constantly have been filling in my eye brows for the past couple of years now, and I never have mastered “the correct technique”. I was over filling them on a daily, so micro blading was the next best thing, and am SO HAPPY with them. The process wasn’t painful but laying on a bed not being able to move for about 2-3 hours was the worst part. Chic Lash Boutique has a great FAQ that prepped me for my appointment that you can read all about here! If y’all have any questions, please reach out! I waited a couple of weeks to share because I wanted to share the true results. The first couple days were wayyyyy dark and then after 3-5 days the color becomes lighter. One side of my eyebrows also flaked and I FREAKED out but Theresa, who was wonderful, let me know it was normal! I would love to hear your experience with micro blading as well!
Y’all, this fancy romper knocked my socks off and I was so excited that I actually had an event to wear it too. I was a little overdressed for the cocktail night this past weekend BUT I always believe it’s better to be overdressed than under. It’s been a while since a piece of clothing really made me excited, is that weird?! Everything from the dramatic sleeves, lace detailing, deep v cut was like woahhhh. I snagged it during the Shopbop sale but I do wish I would have sized down to an XS! I think this romper would also fit my question, “Can I wear a romper to a wedding” that I blogged here about. I also just snagged these shoes and I was a little disappointed in how much my feet hurt after the event. I mean they are super super cute and I don’t own a black strappy heel but hopefully it was just me needing to break them in! I will let you all know if they become comfier as time goes on. I hate that sometimes you have to break in shoes lol! Why can’t they be ready from the get got?
Today I am off to Florida with some blogger friends for a trip to 30a! I packed a ton ton ton of outfits so be sure to follow along so I can share with you! I am gone for a week and if you know me by now, that’s an insane long trip in the #raadstravel terms. I also will be missing my hubby and puppy lots! Ted has been working all week so we haven’t had much time together so lots of face timing will be happening. Ted is so much fun, I wish I could put him in my pocket and take him everywhere with me! Weird again? Lol sorry y’all! Have a happy Thursday babes. Thanks for stopping by.
I wanted to walk you through all my outfits that I brought to the Reward Style conference. I mainly want this little journal of my outfits for my self, as well, so it’s all in one place for next year! If you follow along on social media, I was in Dallas all weekend for a blogger conference. We had brand meetings, sponsored lunches, and parties galore. You can probably imagine getting outfits together for events with other bloggers was pretty intimidating, if you ask me. The one key advice I took was to dress as yourself. Dress as you normally would and don’t think or worry about anyone else. That advice is like my life motto, (keep your eyes in your own lane) so it made sense why it was so helpful during this trip! I did have a couple questions on how to get invited to this conference, and I would say just keep working hard on your blog, if you are a blogger! I remember 3 years ago watching all these girls attend this conference and I thought how stinking cool would that be to go. I started my blog a year and a half ago and getting an invite to this conference was one of my biggest goals. To say I was ecstatic to attend was an understatement.
Anyways – let’s start with the outfit for the drive up. I drove up with a sweet blogger friend Kate Blue and we chatted away from our drive to Houston to Dallas. She has been to the conference a couple of times so it was the perfect opportunity to pick her brain! I also believe the best part of blogging is getting to connect and become friends with such genuine ladies. I wouldn’t necessarily wear this top again in a car ride since I sized down and the shoulders were way to tight/uncomfortable. I have had my eye on this eyelet off the shoulder top and the material was amazing in person. I also fell in love with the color!
Thursday evening we kicked off the weekend with a Sole Society pool party. I blogged about this look here. I got these shoes for the weekend, since I wear my other Steve Madden Carsons, WAY TOO MUCH. I realized if I wear a certain style a lot, it’s ok to invest in other colors. I just feel like they go with everything and don’t take away from the outfit. I found this bodysuit for a steal of a price. This skirt = ahhh dreams are made of.
For the first full day of the conference I wanted to go with a more casual look since I knew we would be a in a auditorium majority of the day. I came across this lace cami that I know is a little pricey, but was perfect to make a statement with some white jeans. I found a similar version here! It was the perfect look for a picnic themed lunch with Shake Shack with Banana Republic.
After a full day of conferences and classroom sessions, we had a cocktail party with Bumble BFF. I went for the PRETTIEST romper you ever did see. I got it on sale during the Shopbop sale and can’t wait to wear it again. I am planning on sharing all details with this romper tomorrow. Recommend sizing down! This was actually the only non colorful item I wore! Haha but you can never go wrong with black! Def my favorite piece!
The following day I went with a more “buttercup” outfit with a bright yellow pleated skirt. I blogged about it here! Coincidently we were attending a garden luncheon so that worked in my favor! Tip next year for me to remember: get there early! That way you can take photos and get a seat inside where it wasn’t freezing. I am notorious for being late so even when I was going to be early, I figured I had time to go to my room and freshen up.
After the garden luncheon, I had a couple meetings then thankfully had a break before the black tie event. Y’all, I can’t brag enough about my roomies that I was so BLESSED to experience the trip with. Everyone was so uplifting, never had a negative thing to say, and we all got along really really well. I was so thankful to spend time with them during our breaks just to get to know them better and laugh about our stupid incidents we did that day. I think rooming with the right people makes a huge difference on any conference! I also am not a fan of being alone for too long and wondering what everyone else is doing so having a core group of girls to go back to is very helpful!
Now for the black tie event, I always find myself on Rent the Runways website. I sent two different pink gowns that I shared on snapchat! I guess I wanted to keep going with the colorful outfits and the gown was perfect. I also rented these Oscar De la Renta earrings that made me feel like a million bucks. I so wish I could have kept them! If you didn’t know, Oscar De la Renta actually was the designer of my wedding dress. I am thinking for our 5 year anniversary I am going to do a wedding recap since I miss it so much haha! You can see some pictures here.
Thats a wrap my darlings! I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. I leave to Florida tomorrow for a week so I will be doing an Insta story session on some things I am packing shortly!
Hey babes! I am working on a conference recap on all my outfits but I wanted to share this garden theme look before the skirt sells out completely! It’s one of those pieces that really makes a statement and like I said in yesterdays post, skirts + color have been my love. I didn’t really mean to share back to back my favorite skirts but hey things just happen like that! I will also list a few similar skirts below since its low in stock. I wore this look during the day to some brand meetings since the yellow screams Buttercup! The top I actually picked up from Forever 21 about two years ago and I wear every once in a while. I wanted something with sleeves since it dropped down to the 50s and it was the warmest thing I packed.
This outfit happened to fall on Topshop’s luncheon which was a garden theme. The wedding planner in my probably squealed since every detail was thought through and it had to of been my favorite event. Flowers are probably my favorite part of an entire event and they didn’t skip out on the flowers, which made me oohhh and ahhh! I did get stuck outside since I was waiting on my roomies to get there and by the time they did, all the seats inside were taken. The ladies were not about the healthy garden salad options (to fit the theme of course) and freezing your booty off, while eating salad, so they opted to leave and head to Shake Shack. The normal Dede would have followed them in a heart beat, but I believe the flowers were calling my name, so I sat outside and froze! It really wasn’t that bad once they passed around blankets.
Oh I also need to mention this bag real quick! A Celine has actually been a dream bag of mine ever since I started persuading Ted to start my collection of designer purses. I remember being in the Las Vegas shops trying to sell him on purchasing a Louis Vuttion and that man wasn’t budging. I then thought of a genius idea to take him to the Celine store, where prices are much higher, which in return made him feel better about purchasing a Louis (I call this the wifey trick haha)! That was almost 5 years ago and ever since that walk in with Celine, a Celine has been on our list. I just love how classic and realistic it is for a day to day purse yet makes your outfit look glam. I also know friends who have had their Celine for YEARS which makes it a good investment if you ask me. Anyways, I came across Trendlee which carries preowned designer handbags. I never have purchased a bag preowned but wanted to try it out. I think the trick is, if the bag is still close to the original price, it means it’s in new condition. I was blown away by the condition of this bag because someone could have sold this to me brand-new in the store and I would have had no idea. You can find a list of all their Celines available here!
