I literally couldn’t wait to put this pineapple dress on and head to Florida last week! Fast forward to my time here, and I could hardly take this babe off! It’s the perfect vacation dress, that I know so many of you are headed to somewhere warm, and probably should take this number with you. I wore it to dinner our first night in Seaside for some drinks and live music at The Hub.
I really didn’t realize how cute Seaside was and how much there is to do and explore. I also had a couple friends visit but know one really told me how relaxing and adorable this cute little gem of Florida is! I am so excited to be working on a post of what to do, where to rent houses from, etc for those who plan on making a trip later this year! I also have a discount code for some of you.
Anyways, back to the pineapple dress, this was a favorite during my #buttercupstories session and I was shocked by how much everyone loved it! I mean it is stinking cute and way on trend. Anything pineapple, watermelon, and cactus print (cactus cuties here), is so popular right now!
I wanted to walk you through all my outfits that I brought to the Reward Style conference. I mainly want this little journal of my outfits for my self, as well, so it’s all in one place for next year! If you follow along on social media, I was in Dallas all weekend for a blogger conference. We had brand meetings, sponsored lunches, and parties galore. You can probably imagine getting outfits together for events with other bloggers was pretty intimidating, if you ask me. The one key advice I took was to dress as yourself. Dress as you normally would and don’t think or worry about anyone else. That advice is like my life motto, (keep your eyes in your own lane) so it made sense why it was so helpful during this trip! I did have a couple questions on how to get invited to this conference, and I would say just keep working hard on your blog, if you are a blogger! I remember 3 years ago watching all these girls attend this conference and I thought how stinking cool would that be to go. I started my blog a year and a half ago and getting an invite to this conference was one of my biggest goals. To say I was ecstatic to attend was an understatement.
Anyways – let’s start with the outfit for the drive up. I drove up with a sweet blogger friend Kate Blue and we chatted away from our drive to Houston to Dallas. She has been to the conference a couple of times so it was the perfect opportunity to pick her brain! I also believe the best part of blogging is getting to connect and become friends with such genuine ladies. I wouldn’t necessarily wear this top again in a car ride since I sized down and the shoulders were way to tight/uncomfortable. I have had my eye on this eyelet off the shoulder top and the material was amazing in person. I also fell in love with the color!
Thursday evening we kicked off the weekend with a Sole Society pool party. I blogged about this look here. I got these shoes for the weekend, since I wear my other Steve Madden Carsons, WAY TOO MUCH. I realized if I wear a certain style a lot, it’s ok to invest in other colors. I just feel like they go with everything and don’t take away from the outfit. I found this bodysuit for a steal of a price. This skirt = ahhh dreams are made of.
For the first full day of the conference I wanted to go with a more casual look since I knew we would be a in a auditorium majority of the day. I came across this lace cami that I know is a little pricey, but was perfect to make a statement with some white jeans. I found a similar version here! It was the perfect look for a picnic themed lunch with Shake Shack with Banana Republic.
After a full day of conferences and classroom sessions, we had a cocktail party with Bumble BFF. I went for the PRETTIEST romper you ever did see. I got it on sale during the Shopbop sale and can’t wait to wear it again. I am planning on sharing all details with this romper tomorrow. Recommend sizing down! This was actually the only non colorful item I wore! Haha but you can never go wrong with black! Def my favorite piece!
The following day I went with a more “buttercup” outfit with a bright yellow pleated skirt. I blogged about it here! Coincidently we were attending a garden luncheon so that worked in my favor! Tip next year for me to remember: get there early! That way you can take photos and get a seat inside where it wasn’t freezing. I am notorious for being late so even when I was going to be early, I figured I had time to go to my room and freshen up.
After the garden luncheon, I had a couple meetings then thankfully had a break before the black tie event. Y’all, I can’t brag enough about my roomies that I was so BLESSED to experience the trip with. Everyone was so uplifting, never had a negative thing to say, and we all got along really really well. I was so thankful to spend time with them during our breaks just to get to know them better and laugh about our stupid incidents we did that day. I think rooming with the right people makes a huge difference on any conference! I also am not a fan of being alone for too long and wondering what everyone else is doing so having a core group of girls to go back to is very helpful!
Now for the black tie event, I always find myself on Rent the Runways website. I sent two different pink gowns that I shared on snapchat! I guess I wanted to keep going with the colorful outfits and the gown was perfect. I also rented these Oscar De la Renta earrings that made me feel like a million bucks. I so wish I could have kept them! If you didn’t know, Oscar De la Renta actually was the designer of my wedding dress. I am thinking for our 5 year anniversary I am going to do a wedding recap since I miss it so much haha! You can see some pictures here.
Thats a wrap my darlings! I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. I leave to Florida tomorrow for a week so I will be doing an Insta story session on some things I am packing shortly!
I wanted to share a recap of our trip to the JW Marriott in Los Cabos. We have heard so much about Cabo over the past couple years that we were dying to go check it out for ourselves! I feel like Cabo comes up in just about every vacay conversation and now we can at least say, we went?
Have you all needed a vacation where you just sat around and did nothing? Well, this one was it for us haha. At first, we had a long list of things we wanted to do when we went to Cabo, and then we walked into this resort, and immediately changed our minds. It was probably one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. Everything was so modern and every detail was payed attention too. Before arriving to the hotel we had all these restaurant recommendations and sea lion or whale watching excursions planned in our head, but we realized we just needed a couple of days to sit, and the resort was way too nice to leave.
Rooms: Beautiful! I would ask for the rooms closet to the water that way you are close to everything. The resort is HUGE and you do a lot of walking but everything is so pretty that you don’t really mind. We got the ocean front room and it was so nice just to lay on the balcony and hear the waves crashing. We are such balcony people lol! The rooms it self smelt like mint and they had 2 cleaning services everyday which was nice!
Pool: “Welcome to my office!”, said my favorite waiter Carlos every time we went to the pool. The staff here was incredible and definitely were very attentive to anything you need. They had about 5 (all infinity) different pools, but we spent most of our time at the adult pool with the swim up bar. I loved that they had an adult section. I also think it was the best view of the beach, which by the way, was AHHMAZING!
Beach: People already warned me that you couldn’t swim in the water which was meh to me since I am the happiest in deep blue water. We did spend a lot of time just laying by the beach and soaking up the sounds of the waves. The waves were actually HUGE and we enjoyed watching them. The beach its self was very big and they even have service on the beach, which I LOVED. It was so nice to eat my nachos by the waves.
Food: I am a sucker for bar snacks. I have no idea why but I need to break this craving. I ordered wings, pizza, nachos, bacon, and pizza either for room service or by the beach / pool. The last night we did do a fancy dinner at Café des Artistes. If you are celebrating a birthday this is the place to go. They greeted us with champagne by the piano and decorated our table with confetti. They also surprised me with this huge sparkler, birthday macaroon set up and sang happy birthday. It was very sweet! We ordered the lobster and it was YUMMM.
We have traveled with a couple before where their main goal was to make as many friends at the resort, do as many activities, and sight seeing. Ted and I were exhausted after that trip and needed a vacation from a vacation. Don’t get me wrong, we love meeting other people at resorts, but this trip, I think we wanted isolation from life. We just shot a lot of photos and ate / drank a lot of food. That is EXACTLY what I think & need when I hear the word vacation.
All I wore were one pieces in Cabo and I wanted to share the two that I wore over and over again. First, was this Ted Baker plunged V neck swim. The color is ahhhhmazing! The material is also done really well. I also ordered a white swim since I think they are so clean and this one made all my dreams come true. By the second day on vacation, I was pretty much burnt so I covered myself with this babe. I actually wore this top to my birthday event last week but I secretly got it for the beach as a white linen cover up!
I am listing some of my favorite one piece swim below and majority are on sale! I also just ordered this babe and I literally cant wait for it to come in the mail. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t get sold out before I get to share it.
