In case you didn’t know (currently listening to that song by Brett Young), I am a sucker for a spa day. Growing up, my mom took me to a lot of different spas around the world, but my mother was never into a higher end spa facility that had all the bells and whistles. Needless to say, as an adult, this has been a learning experience, and it has become one of my favorite things! I also have been spoiled by going to so many nice spas with the Chateau Cocomar team, since that is what they love to do! I mean who doesn’t? Last weekend, I visited Hotel Grand Velas in Riviera Maya, and we got a morning to enjoy the spa and the facility (yes please)! It really was a pretty spa and we tried a treatment that I actually never had before, a hydrotherapy! Let me break down step-by-step the water treatment:
First you get your own personal spa specialist who walks you through each step, which is so cool! You are in a bathing suit during the entire treatment too fyi!
Sauna: I LOVE the sauna. My new gym doesn’t have one, and I am a bit bummed about it. Something about hanging out in a hot room makes me sweat and smile at the same time. While in the sauna at Grand Velas, they provided a cold (scented) towel and cucumber slices to place on your eyes for a glorious experience. Our new condo has a sauna and I need to go down there with a cold towel and cucumbers and recreate this moment!
Ice Room: The only ice room I have been too was an ice bar in Amsterdam, so this was a pretty cool experience. I am not usually a cold air gal, but this was bearable and smelt so minty and fresh!
Color Therapy Steam: Next, you go to a steam room, which is pitch black with a few colored lights on the floor. As you can tell, your body is going from hot, to cold, to hot, which was pretty cool! I love a good steam room too!
Clay Room: This was probably my favorite part since it was so unique! We were handed a small, hand-sized tub full of clay and we were told to rub it all over our body. It was like a mini-wrap, but we did it ourselves! I met the nicest lady in this room and she told me she has done many hydrotherapy sessions around the world! I loved hearing that since it was so foreign to me!
Polar Pools: just as it sounds! There are 2 pools (hot and cold) and you go back and forth a couple of times!
Waterfalls: the facility indoor pools were amazing and a complete oasis. There were 3 waterfalls that you can sit underneath and enjoy!
Bubble Volcano: The next part of the session was a jet experience for your legs!
Water bubble bed: This was a bed in the water, just above the surface, with full jet treatment. The perfect ending to the hydro therapy!
I actually had no idea what to expect going into the hydro therapy treatment, but I loved it! I definitely will be looking for hydrotherapy treatments in the future spas I visit. This treatment is included with any of the spa treatments you choose!
Y’all, this color / this dress is my new favorite and I don’t want to wait any longer to share! I love how easy going yet sophisticated this dress is that can be worn to work, a wedding, or any special event! I should have sized down to an xs since I do feel like it’s a tad big but lately I have been having that problem. I have been ordered a small like my entire life and recently I feel like I keep saying “I should have sized down” more than usual. I haven’t lost weight so I am not sure what it is but I think I am going to try the whole xs ordering for the next couple months and see what happens!
Anyways, the Cancun review was suppose to go up today but traveling has gotten the best of me! I currently am writing this at 3am because I have major jet lag and husband is passed out since he has one of his last meetings tomorrow. We only have a couple more hours in South Korea until our next destination, which I am so excited for! Hopefully tomorrow I will have the hotel review up!
Ummmm can you believe we are half way though June?! I don’t want to think about it! Summer is my absolute favorite time of the year and I don’t want it to come and go in a blink of an eye. Especially while traveling, it’s so important to stop, reflect, and soak up all the little moments! While I was in Charleston a couple weeks ago, the girlies and I decided to share a Fourth of July inspo look on the adorable streets on Rainbow Row! Since the fourth is only a few weeks away, it’s about time to start thinking about outfits for the holiday! I love that we all came with a touch of red white and blue but all different styles.
Lauren from Life to Lauren showed up in the most adorable Draper James gingham blue dress! You can take this babe on all your summer date nights or would be perfect to wear to showers. So festive and cute!
Kailey from Double Shot of Sass paired her mom jeans with an adorable off the shoulder red top. Isn’t she the cutest? I would totally rock this top so many different ways this summer!
Did you notice we all are wearing the same Steve Maddens but in different colors? We clearly believe in this shoe!
If you are headed to Charleston sometime soon, I rounded up a bunch of my recommendations here & Lauren recommendations are here. I had such a blast with these girlies and can’t wait for our next adventure!
Oh, & what better day to share our looks on Flag day, aka Teds birthday! I am so excited to squeeze his neck today in South Korea! Happy birthday pumpkin pie. You are literally are the apple to my eye, my favorite person on this planet and I am so blessed to be your wife! I’ll spare y’all all the mushiness (highly unlike me) but I have a plane to catch!
These were two Mumu rompers, very similar, that I absolutely adored on my trip to Mexico! I realized I styled them very similar but that just means I love me a romper, with some block heels sandals, and a straw Mexico bag a whole entire lot! I also am bringing these two babes on my trip to Asia because I barely had time to pack and I think they would work with where I am going!
White Romper: I think this babe would be absolutely PERFECT for you summer brides to be. I know plenty of occasions where this would be widely appropriate this summer. I know I had my sister pack this one for my trip in her bag and it was easily her favorite piece she had to stuff of my clothes in her suite case lol (bless her)! She also pointed out I packed WAY too much white but I don’t think thats a bad problem to have! I also love pairing white with my pink shoes. I wore the heck out of these babes back in March and I felt like I needed to give them a little breather but let me tell you, they are back. I had a couple friends say they wore them to their bridal shower and y’all have no idea how much that puts a smile on my face!
Colorful Romper: If there is one piece in my closest that SCREAMS Mexico, this babe is it. I mean the colors on this thing is a fiesta and it just makes me smile. I wish I had it for Cinco de Mayo, it would have been PERFECT for that. I plan on keeping this tucked away in my closet for the next couple years because I think it’s a keeper and perfect for fiesta occasions. Just last month my friend threw a fiesta for her little girls and this babe would have came in handy. I just threw on my favorite tassel earrings and had my hair in a top knot since the wind was going 100 miles per hour.
Happy Tuesday darlings! I literally had 24 hours at home before my next adventure. I am going to try to IG stories as much as possible on this trip! I feel like it is so much easier to IG story with my family & Ted than with a group of other bloggers. Idk thats just me being weird but I LOVE taking you all along our trips so here we go!! I am brining my cousin David and sister Katy and Ted has already been there for work. So excited for our next adventure and best believe, there is 1 other mumu romper that is PERFECT for this trip that I didn’t want to share until we got there. It is too cute for words!
