Does this top look familiar? Maybe because I wore the jumper version to this top to a winery in Fredsrickburg last month, here (full blog post here). Or you probably saw it on my insta story last week on the way to Phi Phi island and last night on my try on session. None the less, I love this top and am obsessed with how thick the denim material is. It’s the perfect elastic that isn’t too tight and snugs just right for that comfort level of a ten. I also have summer heat on my mind and the sleeveless option is perfect to keep you cool. I paired this top with my summer white denim shorts. I can’t decide if they are too short and I need to give them away or I am being drama. I all about comfort and when I am wearing something too short, I feel like I constantly have to watch my self.
I also got this choker before the trip and haven’t taken it off. It’s such a dainty precious choker and comes in a couple colors! I am loving a bare shoulder, choker necklace, and a top knot! It has been my go to!
Happy Monday darlings! Thanks for being so patient with me with my lack of posts last week. I am so glad to be officially back and in the swing of things! I am prepping for some fun posts and working on my Thailand / South Korea diaries – hopefully will get to them by this month!
Oh & think this top would be perfect for some Fourth of July festivities. Just need to add a fun red lip and you would be good to go. I had another fourth outfit planned for today but that sucker got sold out! I waited to long to share, oh well! Check out my other fourth look here.
With the fourth right around the corner, I wanted to give you a holiday inspo that you may have in your closet that you can recreate. I wore these shorts in Charleston a few weeks back and I have no idea why I am now getting around to sharing them! I regret waiting since now sizes are limited on the shorts. I tried finding them from another retailer and these were the closest I could find (& the dress version here)! You know you never can have enough white tops and this babe is currently 40% off. It’s the perfect light weight material and the style is so different! It comes in a couple colors and this style can give your basic v necks a break. I also added a pop of red with my earrings and wish I was smart enough to also add a red lip. Currently hot mess over here!
I think thats what traveling does to you. Sorry for the lack of posts as well! The 12 hour time zone and go go go got the best of me. I thought I could do it, but guess I was wrong (will be back to posting Mon – Fri next week)! We are about to start our journey back home today, which I AM SO SAD ABOUT. Last year during our Europe trip, I actually was so excited to get back home. This time, I don’t want to leave! It has been a trip of a lifetime and I now am a big believer in Thailand. I can’t wait to share all about it! I will have to convince Ted to do a insta story Thailand recap edition when he comes back from his trip. Speaking of husband, he is SO SWEET. He got called to go back and work in South Korea on Monday and instead of just staying in Asia, he is making the trek back to America with me so I don’t have to travel alone. I told him I could do it and I don’t want him to be exhausted, but he kept insisting. I think he secretly also wants to climb in his own bed for a couple hours because who wouldn’t?! Sad I can stay in Asia longer with him or I SO WOULD!
So much color, so little time! I found this one shoulder dress and I thought it is perfect for this summer. I can’t believe we are already at the point where we can say summer time! Anyways, Ted and I have some summer time weddings coming up, so obviously what to wear has been on my mind. A couple weeks ago, I shared a haul on dresses that you can wear to a wedding on my instastory, and this was a crowd favorite.
Back to this dress, I really do think the color is amazing and the one shoulder ruffle gives the OTS dresses a break! I actually wore a VERY similar dress to a friends wedding 4 years ago with my hair in a braid and it was a dark navy. I love that fashion comes in full circle! That dress was actually one of the few dresses I still have in my closest, because I had a feeling one shoulders would come back around! I do closest clean-outs like every month and you would be shocked by how little clothing I have, so holding onto a piece is a big deal to me! Something about walking into a closet with limited options is so refreshing to me. Less overwhelming for sure! Oh & I will include the photo with my honey bunny, of the navy dress I am talking about below. You can’t really tell the one shoulder ruffle, etc, but promise, it’s similar!
Anyways be sure to size down in this dress! I am wearing a xs for reference and I should go take it in to get it cut a little shorter.
I am going to try my best to resume a regular posting schedule, but y’all, it’s been rough! We have been go, go, go, on our trip to Thailand and we are about 12 hours ahead, which means currently the sun is setting while the sun is probably just rising where you are. It’s so crazy, but we are having the time of our life! Don’t worry, we have been taking notes, so travel guides will be coming your way!
Over the weekend, I got to meet up with 7 other blogger girlies and stayed at Hotel Grand Velas in Riviera Maya! I am a total hotel snob, it was my major (Hotel Restaurant Management), so I love giving reviews on hotels and giving you all the “ins && outs” on what I thought!
First, I was so excited we were headed to Grand Velas since our wedding planner / travel agent recommended this place for our one year anniversary spot a couple years back. I also have had a wedding planner friend come here ALL the time for a huge wedding they were planning, so my expectations were a little high! The resort is all inclusive so I am not sure how you can not enjoy yourself. I also loved that they had an adult only section but also is family friendly!
Hotel: The hotel is about a 40 minute drive from Cancun area into Riviera Maya. Overall the hotel grounds were stunning. We stayed in the “jungle” part of the property so we had to take a bus to the main lobby where the huge pool and beach was. Sadly, we didn’t spend too much time on the beach, but they did have a HUGE family pool overlooking the beach, which was beautiful. The bus ride was also not bad since we never had to wait for a bus and it was only a couple minute drive to the main area. The hotel room itself was HUGE. It was perfect for two girls who had clothes everywhere (love ya Emmm)! We also had our own concierge (Fransisco) in our building who was so helpful!
Food: For breakfast, we ordered room service every morning, because who wouldn’t at an all-inclusive?! I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was so YUMM. I can’t tell you how many delicious restaurants we ate at for dinner. Every lunch, we ordered poolside service and I indulged on wings, ahi tuna tacos, and Emily ordered a bbq chicken sandwich, every time. First night for dinner we had Frida (one of their restaurants), which was one of my favorites. It overlooked the beach and had the best mexican tapas. I ordered the fish, and it was soooo good!
Pools: There were 2 pool areas, one in the forest, where our hotel room was, and one by the beach. The one in the forest was BEAUTIFUL and we spent majority of our time here. It also was adult only which was a plus! The main pool was massive, as mentioned, but lots of open chairs to accommodate everyone. Something about small, boutique feeling, wins my heart, so I feel like thats why I loved the forest pool the most!
Spa: We spent a girls morning at the spa and had a hydro-therapy session that you can read all about here.
Overall, I highly recommend Grand Velas! I did get questions if it was a family friendly hotel and I would say YES! It’s not catered to kids (like no water jungle), but it still has a lot to offer! Great food, amazing staff, and beautiful environment!
