I do want to note that once Ted saw me in this outfit he was like, “Isn’t the rule you can’t wear denim on denim?” Y’all my heart fluttered hearing these words come out of his mouth. I felt like my job was done with him. I was so ecstatic that, oddly enough, he listens to my fashion advice. I told him that this rule still applies to him, but I wanted to share the right way to rock denim on denim for us ladies.

It really is a tricky look to nail, but adding the right accessories (like a belt and cardigan) gives a breakage in the similar material! When I think chambray, I immediately think of Old Navy for my favorite pieces. I still have some chambray tops from Old Navy from a couple of years back hanging in my closet. When I was shopping around the store, I was intrigued to try on their jeans, and I was surprised how comfortable they were. They also were super affordable which sold me to purchase this entire look! Adding a belt and a white cardigan was the perfect addition to break up the denim look and add some spice. Both accessories really do add the touch and make the biggest difference!

I received a lot of feedback that everyone is searching for more affordable pieces – instantly Old Navy was the first place I thought to shop!

Happy hump day lovelies.

Athleisure has been all the rage lately! But can you blame everyone? Comfort has been a main priority for people these days, and I am all-aboard the comfort train. I mean the benefits are endless. I no longer have to worry about changing my pants when leaving the house #bonus, but this also means I’ve been wearing these pants for the past 2 days (no judge zone).  These are made with such soft, delicate material. I promise, it feels incredible! The downside, Ted is starting to notice that I’ve been wearing these for far too long, so I have to change out eventually.

Now, let’s talk about this sweater. The other day, Ted and I were looking to do some errands around town after church, and he was in his jeans and black tee (typical, he loves his V-neck black tee’s), and I really wanted to change into something comfortable. Well, if you read closely above, I grabbed these joggers, but I wanted to add a little pop in my outfit (mostly to make sure if I ran into anyone, they wouldn’t think I just gave up on life, haha). I threw on this sweater and it was perfect! Not only was it stylish, but I was in a whirlwind of comfort. Which means, I have been wearing this complete outfit for 2 days straight (I may be confessing too much around here, lol). I also threw on some sunnies and add a red lip to glam up the look. I think I may have found my go-to outfit.

Lastly, I need your help! Athleisure wear is perfect for those work out peeps that go from the gym to wanting to run around town. Well, in my case, I’ve just been using athleisure wear to just run around town. I haven’t seen the gym since June 2016! January was supposed to be the month of GETTING back into it like I shared here #typical but you know how that goes. Ted always bugs me to go when he’s getting to the gym, but he’s too sweet and always gives me a pass. Between work and putting together the new condo, I have been swamped, but I need to include gym time!

What do you guys use as motivation to get to the gym? I am thinking of getting  a trainer for like once a week to help motivate me, but who knows if that will work :).

I think the key to dressing up your jeans… is having the right accessories. I shared in the first photo how boring this look can be without accessories (anyone notice that??) Dressing up your denim for either a night out or casual Fridays at work is easy and fun!  I wanted to list out the accessory necessities any ladies outfit should have.

  • Watch: this make the biggest difference with my arm party. They aren’t necessarily the most useful since we all check the time on our phone now, but they give just about every outfit an umph. My mom actually gave me this watch for my Senior graduation in 2010 and I can’t believe I still have it/ wear it. I just always feel naked without a watch on now!
  • Purse: I mean, how boring was the first photo with no purse. We all need a place to put our phone / keys and a purse just completes the look. This clutch was a Christmas present and I absolutely love the simplicity but yet chic design. It’s also under $50!
  • Earrings: I know I mentioned I always feel naked without a watch but same goes for an outfit without earrings! They don’t always have to be statement earrings to make an outfit but even studs makes your earrings less bare. I actually am obsessed with these Tory studs and have had them for years too!
  • *Scarf: Ok I put an asterisk next to scarf since this isn’t a necessity BUT it did complete this outfit to a T! Scarfs are always a fun additional piece and especially when they make a statement like this Burberry print. I always recommend investing in designer accessories over anything else. Wether that is a purse, scarf, shoes, I feel like that is where you will get your moneys worth. They also make any outfit look a little more glam! Of course Nordstrom has an array of high end and reasonable price accessories to shop for.

I hope you all are ready for a new week! Ready or not, I think I am. Last week was insane with contractor meetings for the new place. We have a few things to fix before we can move in #thisprocessneedstohurry. I have been meaning to do a snapchat tour of the place so I will try to do that next time I am there.

PS THANK you to all for filled out the survey. Your feedback and kind words really did blow me away. Love you all like crazy!

First, my dream would be to get all my clothes steamed so I don’t get a call from my aunt letting me know my shirt was wrinkled AGAIN #truelife! But for real, I am a dreamer y’all… big dreams for a big life. To be honest, I have so many fears y’all, which results in being overwhelmed and beat down BUT my dreams outweigh my fears.

I had big goals for 2016 and the Lord provided in unbelievable ways and surpassed what I could have imagined. A lot of y’all helped me reach my 2016 goals and I couldn’t be more grateful for you and your support. I absolutely value your time and feedback so I wanted to see if I could ask YOU to fill out the quickest survey you will ever experience here. Your opinion matters and I want this to be a place where I continue to grow with you – so hearing from you is so important!

I now have bigger goals /dreams for 2017 and I am ready to share a few quick ones with you. . .

Dreams for the blog

  • Hear more from you (my favorite part)
  • Impact (even if I make the smallest impact)
  • The way you feel in an outfit (I love nothing more than pictures sent of an outfit I helped inspire and how it made you feel the best)
  • Give more everyday tips (I am not a know it all, 100% human here, but I feel like I have some tips I can share)
  • Continue to grow (not just in numbers but in my content, and how I can provide for you)
  • Expand on topics you want to see (#raadstravel is our passion so travel is huge for us along with home decor since we just bought a new condo!)

PS how perfect is this sweatshirt in honor of MLK. && don’t forget to take the survey here (it would mean the world and will literally take 1 minute)!
