I think this is sadly one of the last looks from Hawaii. For some reason I have PLENTY of little black dresses/little white dresses but no little hot pink dresses like this (similar) one. (sadly this one is not online anymore but you can find a similar one, I think cuter one, here)
This hot pink color screams summer, so I thought it would be perfect for my trip. Sometimes when you find a dress, such as this one, the dress speaks for itself and you don’t need any accessories. I opted out of big statement earrings or a necklace because clearly it did not need one. However, I am a type of girl that feels the need to always wear earrings and I feel like something is missing when I am not wearing them. When I saw these moonstone earrings from Coco and Duckie, I knew they needed a home. They are for the minimalist that is looking for earrings but not your average joe earrings. They pretty much go with everything on this planet and have not left my ears since. The clear color with gold prongs and the rectangle shape give them such a unique studded earring.
Congrats on making it to Hump Day! Today I get to watch my sweet friends baby girl and I am so excited. It’s also her one year birthday so I can not wait to smuggle her with kisses. Follow along on Snapchat (dederaad). The only thing is that I have NEVER changed a diaper in my entire life. Of course I am just remembering this now as I am typing and of course I am pretty scared about this. Wish me luck y’all!
I didn’t realize my mad crush on wrap maxi dresses until I started hunting for them for this guide. I mean, how much cuter can they get?? I especially have a crush on the floral wraps like this one. They can get a little pricey so I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the price tag on this baby. To be honest with you all, I thought I would throw out all my maxis this season since they were over worn last year (in my opinion). I think something sparked in me when I discovered these wrap maxis that give a edgy look with slit openings and deep v necks. Gosh, they are so romantic to me that I can’t believe I thought I would never put on a maxi dress again!
I would love to hear which one was your favorite maxi! Happy Tuesday y’all. Ted and I had a MAJOR bum holiday yesterday involving House of Cards and delivery pizza (me blogging) for hours. After the exhausting weekend of non stop festivities, we needed it!
Once I saw this tee from Topshop, I knew I had to have it. The meaning behind “mi casa su casa” means “my house is your house”. This has pressed heavy on my heart lately so the tee seemed so fitting. This video also had Ted and I dying laughing the other day about people stopping by unexpectedly. I remember the good ol’ days moms friends would always stop by surprise. That doesn’t happen anymore.
I believe the Lord has blessed Ted and I with a beautiful home and all that are in need of a home, is welcome at ours. We love when people stop by unexpectedly, come over for dinner, hang out, sleep over, and just live life in our house. It’s my sanctuary and my heart is to open our house to those who need it. I also believe my “casa” does not have to be my literal house, but my house as in the space of Dress Up Buttercup. This is my home to share my heart, my passion for style, and a place for self expression. This is where I pour my heart and soul into hours on hours per day and where I want you to feel like home. A place you can visit daily and feel that you have gained new insight and find your own self expression. If there is anything more you would like to see at our “casa”, I would love to hear your recommendation.
Now back to this outfit. Of course adding white jeans, my favorite are these, and some chunky heels dress up this tee for a more dressed up look. This Robinson chain wallet is also something I have had my eye on for months. It’s a wallet but you are able to wear it out and not worry about it with the chain added. The chain also gives it a dressier look and I highly recommend it.
Thanks for stopping by buttercups and happy Monday!
SO I wanted to first start with this darling romper that screams Hawaii! I am loving the deep v neck and the pockets. I have a black one like this that I bought years and years ago, I think high school, and I still wear it. It is probably one of the longest lasting item in my closet and the fact that this romper comes in this floral print is perfect. These shoes are almost sold out on every website but luckily Amazon has this color still available in majority of sizes. They are the rage this summer and you can see why. If you have been on the fence about them, I recommend snagging them now!
I wanted to share some of my Oahu favorites for those who plan to take a trip there. I have had some questions about our trip and I wanted to name must places to go/eat! I don’t have all the answers but these are our favorites from our own experiences. I wanted to keep it short and sweet but if you all are interested in travel diaries, a detailed review, etc, just let a girl know! We are trying to travel as much as possible this next year so would love to hear your blog post recommendations. Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram #raadstravel for all our adventures.
Happy hour is the BEST. For dinner you need reservations. Very tasty food and a fun activity to grill your self at the table. Very affordable and luckily there is one in Houston we just discovered. Cant wait to check it out. We went twice we loved it so much.
Oh man this place lol Apparently Jimmy Buffet has a song about this place? This place is very overrated to me. It’s like an Apple Bees but you have to wait hours and the food is overpriced. ONLY In my opinion. I know tons of people have recommended this place. This was my second time trying the restaurant. Ted had to beg me to go so he could judge for himself!
Our absolute favorite. It is on our top 3 beaches that we have ever been too. Literally breahtaking. I have been thinking of our moments here all week. I recommend driving a little down and not parking at the public parking. That beach is packed and not as clear as if you drive literally 5 mins down the road pass the public park. We parked in a neighborhood and walked into beach accesses. If you are going here, let me know and I can send you a private beach entrance that is breathless.
Breathtaking for a sunrise hike. We thought we were smart to do the sunrise hike but apparently busses of people are also waiting to get into the gates of Diamond Head (open at 6:00AM). Sunrise was at 6:27 but it took 10 minutes to wait inline for the park to open and pay. I would recommend getting there at 5:30. No matter what it was so unforgettable. We watched sunrise half way up the mountain and it was just as stunning. Best birthday morning I have ever had
This one is for those who want a good workout. We made it to the top DRENCHED. Literally it is stairs after stairs, 1,049 steps to the top. The view to the top is worth it and the feeling of accomplishment is unreal.
A public beach for snorkeling. We didn’t end up going because it was WAY to packed. We aren’t for the touristy thing but if that is what you are looking for, you would enjoy this place. Another one I talked Ted out and won this one. He didn’t mind!
We usually don’t do any tours or excursions on our trip so basically we hiked, ate, beach, ate, watched sunset, then ate again! It was literally perfection.
