So the look we were going for was blogger brunch and I feel like I nailed the blogger brunch for a total of $33 for my top and bottom. This eyelet top is SO darling and the cheapest thing you can find. I know I usually am an advocate for quality over quantity butttt when its a top that is this darling, I make an exception. I also tend to make an exception when I know I won’t be wearing these items all year round. When going for staples, quality is a big key for me. I also love going into Forever 21 and get my creative juice flowing and trying on fun but different stuff in the dressing room. Anyone else? I get such a thrill haha but I mainly shop online so that creativeness can only go so far. Am I making any sense?
Anyways, I got to take these photos with some lovely lovely Houston bloggers. I adore each of these ladies so much. We all got together before our blogger conference to snap these photos. I think the most important takeaway from the conference I learned was to blog about your passion. I hear that a lot but for me I came to the realization that fashion is truly my passion. Getting my creative juice on while pairing outfits together, getting giddy about certain materials, and loving on color all play apart of fashion. I’ll say this time and time again, “I believe clothing is not an item of materialism: it’s a sense of self expression”. Quote from me of course (haha). It’s a way of telling the world how I am feeling that day and I am so fortunate to get to play dress up on this site everyday!
Make sure to check out my Thrive Tribe and their blogs for more details of their outfits and their experience at their first time at Thrive.
Once I laid eyes on this dress, the Texas girl in me, knew I had to style it with some cowboy boots. It is so perfect for this time of year with the Houston rodeo going on. I have loved seeing everyones Instagram rodeo posts and especially the outfits you all have put together. We haven’t had a chance to go to the rodeo yet but I wanted to fit in. Hopefully we get tickets soon and I can wear this darling attire. I am not one to invest in cowboy boots (maybe one day) so I found these cute but wayyyy affordable ones that will get the job done. I would love to continue to see your rodeo inspired outfits! Feel free to tag me on Instagram (@dressupbuttercup).
Thanks for following along y’all! With last week pulling my wisdom teeth and being out too this week is full of rain, I have been so behind on shooting outfit posts. I miss it so much! I am hoping hubby and I go somewhere cool this weekend and I can snap away. Depending on our vacation plans, I may skip a few days next week but I sure will keep you all updated! We are thinking but haven’t decided on Cabo. Anyone have Cabo recommendations? I would love to hear them!
If you have been following the past couple of weeks, you probably have noticed the over load of the bare shoulder trend. I. Just. Can’t. Help. It! I think shoulders are so flattering and this trend really gives me a reason to work a little harder in the gym on my shoulder muscles lol (not even kidding)! I have especially been crushing on this long sleeve off the shoulder because A the color and B I love the look of long sleeves and a bare shoulder. I love how this year we have many options on this trend, so I decided I would round up my favorite finds. This off the shoulder is the perfect color and has a touch of the bell sleeve style (so you get a double whammy). I hope you all love this bare shoulder look as much as I do. What else would you all like to see on my “crushes” series. I always have so much fun with these!
Today I am attending not one, but two Rising Tide – Tuesday Together meetings. I have been going back and forth (depending on my schedule) with the Houston and the North Houston chapter meetings. It just so happened that two different friends asked me to attend both meetings today and my schedule is eek kind of open. I always love attending the Rising Tide meetings because it’s an opportunity to meet like minded entrepreneurs in the Houston area. It’s a chance to pick each others brain about what we all are going through. Rising Tide is an organization that promotes Community Over Competition which I am ALL ABOUT. Life is not a competition and we all shouldn’t be scratching to the top. Instead, we should all help each other get to the top together and I am a huge believer in that. I hope you are too! More info on Rising Tide here.
So I tried editing these pictures for you all to tell the detail on this dress but the more I stare at it, the edits look so weird lol oh well! I hope you get the point of the detail this dress has to offer. This entire week this dress has sold out then restocked. I would recommend keep checking back because this is a darling dress you don’t want to miss. Here is a very very similar dress if you are looking for an alternative for a better price. Now for these shoes, aren’t they darling? Well they won’t break the bank but they also won’t get you far in your steps lol. The price makes up for the quality of these shoes so I wanted to make sure you all know what I know. I have seen them all over and thought they were the cutest but I would recommend investing in some like these that are probably a little more comfy but more pricey. If you are in search of just shoes for the looks for a cheap price, these are your gals, which is why I went for them.
Thanks for following along! I love this look for the beach or a fun fiesta. The red lips go with the shoes and thats a fun tip for you all to coordinate in your looks. I hope you all are surviving this Monday. Today is the day I get my booty back in the gym after being a bumm last week from my wisdom teeth surgery.
