Cardigan: Free People

You would think Free People is the highlight of this post, but I promise that was so on accident! I have been LOVING Free People lately and somehow I have been gravitating towards them while shopping on Nordstrom. Some pieces are an investment, but so incredibly worth it (like this cardigan). SO comfortable and the quality is what I standby! Especially for back to school items when you are going to constantly be wearing the pieces over and over again. I did throw on this cardigan (see last photo) over both outfits because it’s so darn cold in classrooms, and you need to be prepared! I also was so excited to come up with 2 back-to-school outfits. I thought it would be fun to do a Freshman vs Senior back to school look. You know it’s true when freshman year you get all dressed up and when senior year comes around, you look like a total bum #reality!

Freshman vs Senior back to school

Freshman Year: By no means do I think you should not dress up if you are a freshman. I would KILL to have this be my first day of school look, it’s your time to shine and make an everlasting first impression. This is not too dressy, not too casual, yet stylish and comfortable all in one! I love that I came across this raw hem velvet black denim skirt and it’s the perfect stretch for comfort. I can’t get over this thermal top that can be worn off the shoulder. SO CUTE! & you especially can’t go wrong with low heel booties to top the look!

Senior Year: By the time senior year comes around, you’re over it! 8ams’ are NOT going to happen and rolling out of bed and straight to class is usually the case. Keeping it casual with an oversized button down was pretty much my uniform. I think I legit wore one of Teds’ to class one day, but now you don’t have too. This one is SO cute, comfortable, and fits much better than your bfs shirt. Also, be sure to always stock up on your favorite denim and these are definitely the top in my closet. They are high waisted and the rips are not overwhelming. Keds also take the cake in shoes lately since they are the easiest grab and go shoes!
