I was so excited when I spotted this lace and leather jacket. I mean it’s the perfect transitional piece during this awkward time from Winter to Spring! I mean, I am dying to bring out my spring dresses and wedges but I know many of y’all are still freezing your bootys off up North. This leather jacket has been my go to piece and I’ll probably wear it again this week for Super Bowl events. I also will be wearing my new pumps since they are so darn comfy. I was on my feet for 9 hours straight on Saturday and as stubborn as I am, I kept these on to look cute, and still was able to walk by the end of the night! I call that a win win.
I can’t believe Super Bowl week is already here. Houston has been preparing for this weekend for what feels like, years! We have built hotels, stadiums, the list goes on and on. I kinda am in shock how much is going on and how many events little ol me is getting invited too. It feels like its New York fashion week all over again and I was SOO NOT prepared. Gotta go shopping and get my life together! Happy Tuesday loves.
I think I have out done it with this sweater but I kinda can’t help myself. Pure white (a rare color in my closet) has given me a break from ALL my grey sweaters. I don’t know what got into me, but this one has taken the cake. I wore it here with these joggers all last weekend, then brought it back this weekend with these jeans, and then now this white on white look. When I got the new line of Kendras in, I knew this was going to be my look to show of my new pieces. This spring launch has been right up my alley of minimal but yet trendy pieces. This necklace and bracelet have been on repeat. I also just got these wedges (I was drooling over them last season) and I recommend snagging them before they sell out again! They come in multiple colors and sold out FAST last year, hence why I didn’t get to grab them, and they have limited sizes already.
Did y’all do anything fun over the weekend? I think this was my favorite weekend of 2017 yet! Saturday, I ran around like a mad women and also got to assist styling Crystle Stewart (Miss USA 2008) for a new project she has been working on! I actually was one of Crystle Stuarts wedding planner when she married Max at the castle (where these photos were taken). I don’t think I will ever forget their wedding. It also was one of my last weddings at Cocomar so they hold near and dear to my heart! Crystle and I also graduated from the same HS (Elkins) and ran into each other at a show during fashion week. She then called me up to help with this set and of course I had to jump on it. I just love random opportunities such as these! Anyways I am rambling. Would love to hear what you were up too!
Every time we travel, my goal is to bring back a clothing item that reminds me of our trip. I think of it like a souvenir since I am not huge on nick nacs but obviously I am a fan of clothes! While touring the streets of Tokyo, I couldn’t help but notice their unique fashion taste. Everyone was out of the ordinary and had an array selection of the most beautiful coats I ever did see. A couple times this teddy bear style caught my eye and I thought it was so darn cute. Of course because it reminds me of my own Teddy bear and it also looks so darn cozy. We went straight to the mall on the last day of our trip and I hunted for hours for this coat, took a few hours! Now every time I wear it in Houston, it reminds me of our trip, which makes it that more special when I see it hanging in my closet.
I really do recommend collecting items on your trips that reminds you of the culture you visited. I started doing this when I was 13 on our trip to Jerusalem. Something in me was dying to find the perfect “Jesus-Sandals” that were authentic, sold in the hand-made shops. It took me a couple days to find a pair, but I still have those sandals and absolutely love them. Sometimes when a big coat like this one won’t fit in my suitcase, I typically go for something smaller, like earrings, and I love that I have a huge selection of cultured earrings I have in my drawer!
PS – I keep procrastinating my Tokyo Travel guide since trying to remember the names of where we went and ate is SO HARD but I promise I am working on it!
You have no idea how ecstatic I have been about dressings coming back into my life. It’s kinda weird but I have missed the heck out of them since dresses are my JAM. I would recommend sizing down in this dress since you can tell it is swallowing me just a tad bit. I apparently wasn’t thinking and ordered a size 6 when typically I would be a size 4 or even sometimes 2 in Topshop. This is the perfect transitional outfit from Winter to Spring since it is black but has a spunk of polka dots and ruffles.
SO darn cute. I am thinking about wearing it tonight for a double date night we have planned. My friend found a new boy online so it’s always fun getting to meet these fellas for the first time. We make her date them for at least a month before we think we should meet him. Anyone do the same? I really hope she’s not reading this haha!
