Now, lets talk business. I don’t really consider my self a boss babe since this whole blogging world still feels like a dream to me. Someone needs to pinch me because I don’t think its true that you all are interested in seeing what outfits I coordinate and what I have to say for the day. What has hit me was how much work I have since going MIA for a couple of weeks on vacation. Ever since we got back Monday I have hit the ground running playing catch up on all the work I have. With that being said, I thought it would be fun to share this boss babe look that I would be wearing if I still had my 9-5 oil and gas job. I thank the Lord everyday that I don’t anymore and can give full attention to this little space of home I have on the web!
I never really have been a fan of dresses that hit the knees since I am a little shorter than average (5’3) but this one nailed it with the right amount of height. I love that you can adjust the belt to however tight or loose you want the dress to be and the color screams sophisticated. I feel like if I walked into a meeting with this dress everyone would take me 10x more seriously. Thats the thing I love about fashion, it is an expression of who you are to the world and this dress means business.
Happy Friday! We made it loves. What do you all have planned for the weekend?!
I finally got my hands on the Nordstrom sale and all is well in the world. I picked up my order yesterday and was so excited when I found this dress apart of the sale. I have had my eye on this ensemble for some time now and it put a smile on my face seeing it was under $100. I have been loving pleated details lately and shades of blue. When I think Nordstrom Sale I think a bunch of booties and jackets, which I am in complete denial that summer is coming to an end. I don’t even want to think about shopping for those items that will have to just sit in my closet for a couple more months until Texas heat passes. If you are like me, you know we end up regretting not purchasing those knee high booties months down the line when we are desperate for some. I kick my self in the booty every season because my mood shouldn’t get the best of me. I recommend you don’t pull a Dede and go ahead and purchase those winter items to save, we will thank our selves later. Have I convinced you enough? Because I also am trying to convince my self! lol
Can you all believe that it is already Thursday? Hubby and I have been sharing a phone and car all week. I pretty am helpless since my car has a flat and I refuse to go sit hours by my self to fix it. My phone crashed in Barcelona and we ordered a new one that should be arriving in the mail sometime soon! I can’t get around Houston without GPS on a phone so I have been dropping off Ted at work every morning and stealing his phone. Poor guy is so selfless I have stripped him! He has been on a steps obsession the past couple of weeks since during our trip we didn’t realize how much we don’t walk in our everyday lives. We averaged at least 20,000 steps a day in Europe so this kid has insisted on walking home from work to meet his goal. Houston just isn’t the same that the poor kid doesn’t even appropriate sidewalks to walk to work lol I applaud his 1.5 hour walk and 15k steps later. So proud of you baby!
This look reminds me of a European look with its subtle colors and a big hat, so I thought it would be appropriate timing to share. The crochet details on these shorts are simply the cutest and pairing it with back accessories tops it all off. This top has been my summer staple and I am blown away by the sale price (thank me later). I wore this look exploring on my trip and it was the right amount of light clothing to keep me cool during the summer days of Espana.
PS. I am back I am back and I kinda want to yell it on the roof tops. Man does it feel good. I am back home in my comfy bed and I am back home to doing what I love the most, blogging and growing Dress Up Buttercup! I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being so patient with me while on this trip. You have no idea how hard it was for me to sit back and not be able to blog. It was a much needed break but boy am I excited to get back to the grind and share some exciting traveling content with you all! So thank you again and I am excited you all are back as well visiting my pages Monday- Friday at 8am.
I legit have looked up to see if there is a Nordstrom in Madrid, Lisbon, Portugal, Ibiza and now Dublin. I want to try on, order and style all my favorite Nordstrom sale picks but I know the time will come next week when I am back in America! Since I rounded up my favorite accessories picks here, I thought I would break down my finds for dresses, jeans, and tops. What did you all get with the Nordstrom sale? I would love to see your finds!
Since I am mentally not ready for winter (I dont think I ever will be) I love this romper and this dress that I can start wearing now.
Thanks for stopping by boos! We head back Monday so I hope to have my regular schedule back by Tuesday or Wednesday.
